My name is Stephon Dion Smith and I am 18 years old and I currently attend Seton Hall Preparatory high school in West Orange New Jersey. I have lived in Newark New Jersey my entire life.  In school I am a vigilant and focused individual and I never let myself get distracted by the task at hand in school.

Outside of school I have volunteered at soup kitchens and participated in extracurricular activities such as playing basketball, football and also running track at the high school level.  I have also been writing and participating in Newark’s Actso branch for written poetry and spoken word since the eighth grade. Throughout my high school career I have been wanting to do more than just be another student athlete and I found that through my writing of written poetry and spoken word with Actso.

I plan on pursuing physical therapy and psychology in college.
