Christopher Maximos is a junior at Delbarton School in Morristown and a passionate public speaker. Since the ninth grade, Christopher has competed at a state and national level in Extemporaneous Speaking, Impromptu Speaking, and Original Oratory. He is a three time New Jersey State Champion, a national finalist who placed third at the 2017 NSDA National Championship, and the current #1 ranked extemporaneous speaker in the United States. Beyond the competitive arena, Christopher is the National President of teachspeech, a policy initiative that seeks to promulgate public speaking education opportunities for high school students, the founder of Extempolitik, a political podcast, a state and national board member of the High School Democrats of America, a Citizen University Youth Collaborator, the national current events editor of The Progressive Teen, and the co-organizer of Ignite | Impact, a youth-led, social impact speaker series. Within his school, Christopher is deeply involved in the arts: serving as a tutor at his writing center, a publicity representative on the Delbarton Arts Council, and an Assistant Director for the One Act Play Festival. When he’s not attempting to change the world, he can probably be found listening to a podcast, reading newspapers, or obsessively taking Buzzfeed quizzes. Christopher has found his voice, and he’s deeply passionate about helping others find theirs.
