Alexander Luo is currently a Junior at Delbarton School. At the NJSDL State Tournament this year, he won in Public Forum Debate with a record of 7-1. Academically, Alex competes in math competitions, and has qualified for the AIME four times. He considers himself academically sound, but finds most of his achievements outside of the classroom. As a Public Forum debater since ninth grade, he has consistently made elimination rounds at national tournaments, as well as won speaker awards, such as top speaker at the Scarsdale Invitational. He is one of six people from New Jersey who has qualified for the NSDA National Tournament in Public Forum this year, along with his partner, Jack Townsend. Alex is also an award-winning writer, with two Gold Keys from the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. He has also played piano since the age of four, playing at prestigious locations such as the NJPAC, Metropolitan Museum of Art, and Carnegie Hall.
