Raj Koshal – State Championship-International Extemporaneous Speaking

Raj Koshal, Class of 2018, Bridgewater Raritan Regional High School.

AP Scholar with Honor; National Honor Society; German Honor Society; Presidential Scholar National German Exam; Special Distinction – National Speech and Debate Association.

My academic passions are rooted in the social sciences; history, government, politics, economics and foreign languages.  During high school, I had the opportunity to participate in multiple exchange trips to Austria, France, and Germany where I lived with host families. My interest in government, politics and international affairs led to active participation in various clubs such as Forensics, Model UN and Mock Trial. I have won numerous awards for competing in Public Forum, Extemporaneous Speaking, Best Delegate (MUN) and Best Attorney (Mock Trial).I volunteer on the Somerset County’s Juvenile Conference Committee, where I help adjudicate minor offenses and I spend the rest of my free time reading articles and books. In the Fall I plan to attend the London School of Economics and Political Science for a BSc in International Relations or Columbia University and Sciences Po’s Dual BA program. I intend to pursue a career in public service.
